Welcome

My name is
Beth Norton and I am the Division Director of Allied Health and BSN Programs and administrator for the Radiography and Dental Assisting Programs
at OWC. I teach in the BSN and occasionally in the A. S. in Nursing Programs.
I graduated from Piedmont Hospital School of Nursing in Atlanta, Georgia and after becoming a
Registered Nurse, earned a BSN at Vanderbilt University. In 1995, I earned an MSN from the
University of South Alabama. I am currently working on my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at USA.
I have practiced nursing in Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida. My direct
patient care nursing experiences range from a small, stand alone birthing center to critical care nursing in a large teaching facility. |

| I
directed the Education for nurses, physicians, medical
technologists, physical therapists, mental health
counselors, radiographers, psychologists, social workers, as
well as unlicensed hospital staff at a 247 bed community
hospital and began lecturing in the OWC A. S. in Nursing Program when it opened.
In 2003 I made the move to a full-time career in higher
education and began the OWC-UWF Cooperative BSN Program. In 2008
we accepted the inaugural class of the Northwest Florida State College
RN to BSN Program. |
