Admission Information
Public Safety
Prior to completing an application to an academy program, prospective students must first complete the following two steps:
1. Complete Placement Testing: You must successfully complete the F-BAT test. (Florida Basic Abilities Test – minimum score of 79 required for Law Enforcement and 72 required for Corrections). Contact the NWF State College Testing Center at (850) 729-5227 to schedule this test. While students are taking the F-BAT, someone from the Public Safety Department will be available at the testing site to provide an application for the academy.
2. Apply for Admission to NWF State College: Students must apply for admission to the college and complete a residency form. There is no fee to apply. NWF State College admission forms are available at all NWF State College locations or on the college web site at www.nwfsc.edu , select the Admissions link. An on-line admission is available. NWF State College has an open door admissions policy. See the college catalog for complete admissions policies.
3. Applications for the academy are accepted on a "first come, first serve" basis. If you are unable to get in the current semester, we will hold your application until the next semester or next available seat.
